Planet Parenthood
As most of you know, last night we got to rock the Planned Parenthood/Affirmations benefit show at Found in the Underground, organized by our old pal ACRONYM (whom you may remember from a lot of early shows and/or the album art to Words I Had, which is still pretty good and you should take this as a sign to stream it).
And it was SICK AS HECK! We saw a bunch of old friends, made some new ones, played with some acts we’ve loved for a while (like our old pal Mark Cooper) and some new pals we were super into, and had a great time. We were even gifted some delicious non-alcoholic pomegranate Negronis, which led to me excitedly mansplaining to the rest of the band what Campari is, despite Brendan being fully aware of what it is thanks to The Life Aquatic.
We did make the fatal mistake of all trying to ingest Coney Island before performing onstage, which Brendan attributed to him dancing slightly less hard (and me unplugging my guitar, which can’t be a coincidence) but the jams were good all the same. ALSO, MORE PEOPLE COULD TELL ME THEY LIKE THAT I USE THE TURBO RAT NOW, WHICH IS DEEPLY VALIDATING AND I NEED TO HEAR IT AFTER EVERY SINGLE SHOW WE PLAY NOW.
(Our friend Katherine took this picture, who most of you probably know. I assume Katherine is reading this, so hi Katherine, thanks!)
Shout out to our friend Possum Punks who made the OPE SORRY shirt I’m wearing.
We mentioned it before, but the whole point of this show was for us to try and raise money for Planned Parenthood and Affirmations, two organizations we’re totally down for. If you couldn’t go but you still wanna help, we got a couple links for ya:
ALSO IF YOU HAVEN’T, MAYBE GIVE US A STREAM OR TWO SOMETIME
Thanks! Talk soon! Enjoy your weird between-holidays period!!
